The paint on my truck is pealing off. I filed a complaint with Chevrolet and they investigated the problem. Chevrolet determined that it was a factory defect but since the truck had 69000 miles on it and was out of the factory warranty they would not fix the paint. Mar 19, 2012 · I say remove the lights b/c when my truck was recovered and sitting on the ground I could clearly see the rust spot by one of the lights. I paid the shop to take care of that while it was in the shop. Well, EVERY light had rust under/around it. Some worse than others but all were rusty and the metal fatigued to the point of being weak. Use a ladder to paint the roof. Lie on the floor and spray upwards to paint under the door and the runner. Allow the paint to dry and then apply a second and third coat. Use a commercial grade automotive buffer to buff the truck after the paint has dried, to produce a clean, shiny finish.
I use dish washing soap mixed in a spray bottle at times to remove grime. then a quick hit with the car wash soap..when the wheels dry in the winter I apply a silicone protection with the sponge wet with silicone.. you cannot spray the wheels as it will get on the rotor... wheels stay good and the grime will not stick...road salt is repelled..
